Ziplines, planes, and more get a nice fix in the newest update.
Fortnite’s update this week should fix a ton of problems in the game’s current iteration. Some in the community have speculated that Apex Legends having such an amazing launch week has forced Fortnite’s hands with some of the problems that are hurting the game at the moment.
The update will also see the Crossbow come back for Valentine’s Day and the Infantry Rifle added. Not sure how it’ll be different than the hunting rifle, but it could be a cross between the Hunting Rifle and Bolt Sniper Rifle.
7.40 Balance Adjustments
- Planes will no longer be able to smash through structures
- Rocket Launchers will no longer be findable through chests
- Zipline interact prompt added, and using a Zipline will grant fall damage immunity
- Hand Cannon structure damage reduced from 150 to 100
- Turbo Build delay decreased from 0.15s to 0.05s
- Rocket Launcher reload time increased from 2.52s to 3.24s
- Added the ability to crouch while in Edit Mode
The last change that’s been confirmed is the number of Rocket Launchers that should be on the map at a given time.
“Also worth mentioning we’re making a change to move Rocket Launchers out of chests — though they’ll still be in Supply Drops (and a little more available there than they are now) and Vending Machines.”
Overall, this should be a great update for both casual and competitive Fortnite. Frankly, planes diving into structures doesn’t fix planes being annoying. Removing planes fixes that problem, but this is a step in the right direction.
